We need financial support to be able to create a ‘Woodyard’ in Barnstaple. Having said this, it is more, much more, than a physical building or renovation project.  

The Woodyard, above all, is about people.

There will be many opportunities for you to volunteer your time, skills and energy as The Woodyard develops. 

It means we will be looking for local people with transferable skills to help manage the project and for their strategic input.

We will need volunteers who are handy with paintbrushes, who can varnish and polish the life back into wooden flooring. We will need people with upholstery and carpentry skills to recycle tired furniture to create an attractive, warm space in which to welcome visitors to The Woodyard. And that is just for starters!  Finally, we will need donations – for example, cafe chairs, tables, desks and office furniture.
